The bathroom is the smallest,
yes second most highly trafficked room in the house
after the kitchen. It is often also the most
untidy and cluttered. It’s amazing how the average
family bathroom accumulates stuff, and if yours is
anything like mine there simply isn’t enough built in
space to put everything. This is where bathroom
cabinets come in.
For many people, the idea of
building cabinets into their bathroom is a daunting
idea. Fortunately there is no such hard work
installing a free standing, or even wall mounted
cabinet. You can build them in if you like, but
you don’t have to! If adding a couple of new
cabinets is all it takes to turn the room into something
a lot nicer to be in, as well as much more organized,
then it’s all good.
Just this smallest addition, to
this often smallest room can completely transform the
room, and the way you use it. There is enough
variety in the market now that there is bound to be a
style and material that matches your taste. From
the overly decorative to purely functional, there is
something for everyone.

Of course if you have the time
and resources, you can completely remodel your bathroom,
and turn it into something sensational. Ripping
everything out and starting from scratch is a tempting
idea for most of us. This involves a lot of
planning and execution though, not to mention money,
which many of us simple don’t have. It isn’t the
kind of project many people can tackle on their own so
have to employ a contractor to do the work. This
is a lot to take in for the average family. How
long could you go without your bathroom?
Just adding a couple of cabinets
to a room and tidying things up a bit is well within
reach of most people. Not all furniture is flat
pack. A well considered purchase can slip right
into the room with the minimum of fuss and the job could
be done in ten minutes. Or you could have custom
furniture made to your own measurements or design.
These pieces of furniture will then just slot into place
where you want them, and again, the job is done in
minutes.
This job like any other around
the house can be as much or as little as you can cope
with. There isn’t always a need to go the whole
hog and tear the room apart and remodel. Sometimes
it enough to change the paint, or the flooring and add a
cabinet or two. You can then do as much or as
little as your time, inclination or budget allows.
It’s easy to get carried away and just start ripping
things out, only to then wonder why you started and
where to go next. Much better to start small and
work your way up if you get the bug.
So the next time you’re standing
in your bathroom brushing your teeth, take a look around
and see if a couple of well placed cabinets won’t change
your room for the better!
